Sister Africa

Sister Africa is an ongoing avatar for the Black community, embodying the collective search for home. Home being in a spiritual, cultural, historical, and personal sense. First created in 2015, she has become the central motif throughout my work, carrying the evolving story of identity, resilience, memory, and belonging. Rather than representing one individual, she reflects a collective journey across generations, asking where and with whom we truly belong. As the face of MiGHTY— May i Get Home To You— she anchors my lifelong exploration of home as both a destination and a pursuit. Every appearance of Sister Africa is another chapter in that search, inviting viewers to consider their own longing for home.
